Vitamins & Antioxidants in Food & How They Are Important for Our Bodies
$50 / 5 weeks
This 5 week class will focus on the 13 essential vitamins and antioxidants, and how they interact with the body. The introductory class will explain what exactly nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants are, and each subsequent class will cover a specified pair of vitamins (A+B, C+D, E+K). The final class will explore antioxidants and the connections they share with vitamins, how they are important for our bodies, and how antioxidants and vitamins can become easily identified by the colour of the food itself.

*FLEX* Timeline of the Universe: Montessori First and Second Great Lessons
$70 / 7 weeks
In this FLEX class, your learner will explore how everything we know, has come to be! That's right! We're going way back in time! All the way to when there was absolutely nothing! We will be starting with complete darkness and learn about what has happened along the way within the universe, to get to where we are now! Each week, learners will have access to a video about that week's era. To accompany the weekly video, there will also be conversation questions, homework, quizzes, and some fun surprises!

*FLEX* Travel the World, While We Can't Travel
$50 / 5 weeks
Hurry! The Outschool plane is going to take off soon, for a trip around the world! Where would you like to travel to first? At the beginning of the course, learners choose a country that they are interested in or may want to travel to someday. The country that they choose at the start of the course will be the country that they will focus on throughout the course in their research. Each week we will look at one thing that would make people want to travel to different countries (ex. food, history, animals, etc). Throughout the course, we will be working together to build a travel map show facts about each of our chosen counties.

*FLEX* Body Parts and Systems With Mr. Bob
$50 / 5 weeks
This introductory class will go over five of the main body systems (the skeletal system, the circulatory system, the respiratory system, the nervous system, and the digestive system). A life-size anatomical figure (Mr. Bob) will be used in many of the classes as an extra visual guide for the learners. Each week, one system will be covered in each class, and learners will get the chance to participate hands-on, through unique crafts and experiments. These are designed to further supplement learners with knowledge and understanding about each system, and the important role they each have for our health and wellbeing. The learners will share their crafts with the class each week on Flipgrid. When the learners do experiments, they will be sharing what the outcome of the experiment was, or they can film themselves actually doing the experiment and share it with the class! The weekly lessons will be prerecorded and will be viewed using Nearpod. After each weekly video lesson, the learners will have a short quiz to compete, to ensure that they fully understood the lesson.
