Montessori Phonetic Letter Sounds

$80 / 8 weeks

Children will be introduced to all of the phonetic letter sounds. The children will not only learn how to identify and say each phonetic letter sounds, but they will also be matching them to pictures of objects that start with each of the phonetic letter sounds. For example, they will match /c/ to the picture of the cat. I find using pictures to match the words to, helps the children stay engaged and they get excited when they get them correct. You have to admit... everything is way more fun when there are pictures involved!

Makes a Splash

$60 / 6 weeks

In this flexible schedule course, students will read the eleventh book from the Amelia Bedelia chapter book series: Amelia Bedelia Makes a Splash. Sometimes it's hard to fully understand everything when we're reading, so listening to me summarize and explain the chapters should help solidify things for your student. I'm not the only one making weekly videos though! The students will also be posting weekly videos using Flipgrid. Each week they will summarize what happened in that week’s chapters. They will also explain what a specific saying meant. For example, “that would cost an arm and a leg.” The students are encouraged to watch and comment on each other’s videos. They can comment in the form of a written comment, or as a video reply. For the last video, in week 6, students will review the book and make a video about their overall experience and thoughts. They also get to rate it out of 5 stars!
