Beginner Chinese Mandarin Circle Time

$12 for 1 class a week

In this is an ongoing class, children will learn new words in Mandarin each week, along with going over the daily calendar. During the daily calendar portion of the class, topics such as greetings, days of the week, months of the year, and seasons will be covered. Each class will begin with a hello song and then we will greet and introduce ourselves to our new friends. Below are some of the topics that are covered throughout the weeks:

  • Colors

  • Numbers

  • Food

  • Family Members

  • Farm Animals

  • Zoo Animals

  • Community Helpers

  • Feelings

Beginner Chinese Simplified Chinese Mandarin Writing

$120 / 9 weeks

People are often scared, worried, or intimidated by learning how to write in Mandarin... But don't worry! Sherley is such an amazing teacher and will help you learn how to write some basic words in Mandarin in no time! Each week has a theme, in which the words taught that week will be based on. In each class, students will learn a variety of basic lines. These lines will then be put together to form new words. While students are writing the words, they will be encouraged to say the words in Mandarin as well.

Between classes, students are encouraged to practice writing the basic lines and words that they learned in class.

Beginner Chinese Simplified Chinese Mandarin Writing

In this ongoing class, a personalized approach and curriculum will be developed for the individual student based on their needs and wants. This class is perfect specifically for beginner, intermediate and advanced level students. Before the class, please message us to let us know what you would like your learner to focus on. This will allow Sherley to plan a fun, interactive lesson. As a native Mandarin speaker, Sherley cannot wait to share her love of Mandarin with your child! Her classes are always fun, engaging, and interactive.

HSK Exam Chinese Mandarin Tutoring

$50 / 1 Day

Each lesson is completely individualized to meet your learner's goals and needs. Some of the most common areas that students need help with, tend to be reading, pronunciation, conversation, and writing.

​Here is some information about the HSK exam to help you understand where you/your learner are at.

There are 6 levels of the HSK Exam

HSK 1 & HSK 2: Beginner

HSK 3 & HSK 4: Intermediate

HSK 5 & HSK 6: Advanced

HSK 1 and HSK 2 only consist of listening and reading components. HSK 1 consists of 20 listening questions (true/false and multiple-choice) and 20 reading multiple-choice questions. HSK 2 consists of 35 listening questions (true/false and multiple-choice) and 25 reading multiple-choice questions. In HSK 1 and HSK 2, all characters are provided along with Pinyin. Each test consists of 200 points and a score of 120 is required to pass.

HSK 3 to HSK 6 consist of listening, reading, and writing and there is no Pinyin provided. These levels require students to demonstrate good knowledge of the Chinese language by completing daily communicative tasks to express themselves in written and oral form. Each test consists of 300 points and a score of 180 is required to pass.
